Full Metal Jacket ammo is crap. The military use it because it maims, meaning it takes two guys to carry the wounded guy plus the medics, instead of just toasting his ass. If you want to slam somebody good you use hollowpoints or Black Talon or some other creative load that blows a huge hole with lots of damage, probably a kill shot.
.44 Hollowpoints are my self-defense load for the carry gun.

the guy in stockton was stupid
he fired about 105 rounds and got 35 hits, but oly 5 kills. the moral of the story is that FMJ ammo is decent enough for maiming but lousy for getting kills
